Forgiving myself, don't forget to forgive yourself....

Forgiving but shifting

I am starting to realize people can have a limited scope or understanding of abuse. The average person thinks it is limited to childhood trauma or domestic violence. Persons can also be abusers in friendships. They think because we are Christians forgiveness is unconditional. They will down play their behavior but hold other to the fire if they even preceive they've been wronged. Forgiveness doesn't mean you throw away your right to protect yourself from being abused. Forgive and shift not allowing the abuse within your personal space and still being cordial, respectful and prayfull. Otherwise you may risk becoming resentful, hateful and vengeful toward the person . God is never in those feelings or actions.

LOVING THE UNLOVELY

Outreach can be one of the most difficult Ministries of love. We all have a certain ease when interacting with our peers, family, acquaintances and others who socially or economically reflect ourselves. What does it look like and what's the internal emotions when approached by a stranger, a homeless person, prostitute and or the dirty smelly bag man / woman. How will we push past our internal to express genuine care, concern , godly love and closeness. If you ever want to test and or stretch your ability or willingness to show God's love love the least of these. It is a lesson in humility as well as a bright light on the condition of the heart.

Day 18 Return on Investment

I love how practical each devotional is with the design to reflect where we are and how we can be better stewards for HIS KINGDOM .

Today this line stood out to me

It’s easy to hold onto what we have out of fear of lack, but true faith reminds us that we are always provided for.“

From a different posture the seed in the ground when for his Kingdom isn’t always immediately for you but the harvest and the impact in the right ground will compound.

A great quote I heard last year “Sometimes we plant seeds for trees we may never sit under, shade we may never experience”

But someone will. Sow for his GLORY. That’s a return on your investment
